Meeting Location
The meeting will take place in the Natcher Conference Center (Building 45) on the main campus of the NIH in Bethesda, MD. Detailed information regarding getting to the meeting can be found below. Directions and a campus map indicating the Natcher Conference Center and the nearest Metro (subway) stop (Medical Center, on the Red Line) can be found below. Please allow adequate time to get to the NIH main campus and to get through security. You will need to obtain a visitor's badge, so please bring a government-issued photo ID.
Food and Beverage (The cafeteria in the Natcher Conference Center is closed)
Federal Government regulations prohibit meals from being provided at the Symposium. There are limited lunch options available for purchase via vending machines (snacks and cold beverages) in the Natcher Conference Center, at nearby NIH cafeterias, and/or by choosing to pre-order a lunch from Corner Bakery during your registration.
Corner Bakery Pre-Ordered Lunch
For your convenience, participants may order a lunch when registering to be furnished and delivered by Corner Bakery on Tuesday, June 6. Participants are able to modify their registration to add a pre-ordered lunch through 5:00 PM Eastern, May 29, 2023.
Sandwich options include a sandwich, chips, cookie, and a beverage for a fee of $17.75.
Salad options include a salad, cookie, and a beverage for a fee of $17.75.
Please note that there is no food or drink allowed in the Natcher Auditorium.
Internet Access
Free and open WIFI is available on the NIH main campus. SSID "NIH-Guest-Network" is open and in broadcast mode in your available wireless networks.
Security and Transportation Instructions
Natcher Conference Center (Building 45) is on the main campus of NIH. Please review the Visitor Access Map prior to your arrival. Information on the Metro transit system, including fares, schedules, and estimated travel times from other stops, can be found at www.wmata.com.
Access to the NIH Main Campus
The Visitors Center is located at the Medical Center Metro Station entrance on the Red Line www.wmata.com, approximately 50 yards from the street and facing the main entrance to the metro station. Enter at the blue Welcome sign and proceed to your right through security. All persons and bags will be screened. Lines to obtain your visitor's badge will be on the other side of security; please remember to bring a government-issued photo ID. Maps of main campus are available in the Visitor Center.
Driving is strongly discouraged, but limited parking is available on campus for $12/day at the Gateway Entrance visitors parking garage (see visitor parking lot labeled MLP11 in the green box on the Visitor Access Map).
Getting to the Natcher Conference Center (Building 45) and the Meeting
Once you obtain your visitor's badge, proceed up the stairs or elevator to the exit for the Natcher Conference Center. Once outside, follow the signs to the Natcher Conference Center; the curved, glass building should be straight ahead with the entrance at the end of the walkway. Proceed through the doors of the Natcher Conference Center and down to the lower level for the lower lobby. The registration desk and the Auditorium will be on the lower level.
There are shuttle buses that leave from the Gateway Center and will drop you off at Natcher. Please take the Purple Express Campus Shuttle. The Natcher Conference Center will be the first stop. Follow the signs to the registration desk and Auditorium on the lower level.

Transportation from area airports is available via taxi service. Approximate one-way taxi fares during non-rush hours are as follows:
From Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA): $65 (Washington, DC area subway system, METRO is also available at this airport. Information on the Metro transit system, including fares, schedules, and estimated travel times from other stops, can be found at www.wmata.com.)
From Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI): $80
